Hon. Philip Ingram Cunliffe-Lister was born in 1918.1 He was the son of Philip Cunliffe-Lister, 1st Earl of Swinton and Mary Constance Boynton.1 He married, firstly, Rosina Gladys Emburey, daughter of Arthur George Emburey, on 5 June 1940.2 He and Rosina Gladys Emburey were divorced in 1947.2 He married, secondly, Mary Leggatt, daughter of Robert John Leggatt, on 20 September 1947.1,2 He died in 1956.1
He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.2 He was educated at Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.2 He gained the rank of SQuadron Leader in the Royal Auxiliary Air Force.2 He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1943.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.)1

Mary Leggatt was the daughter of Robert John Leggatt.1 She married, firstly, Robert Noel Stewart-Humphries.1 She married, secondly, Hon. Philip Ingram Cunliffe-Lister, son of Philip Cunliffe-Lister, 1st Earl of Swinton and Mary Constance Boynton, on 20 September 1947.1,2 She married, thirdly, Robert Alexander Pleasant Craigie, son of Sir Robert Leslie Craigie, on 27 June 1958.2 She and Robert Alexander Pleasant Craigie were divorced in 1969.2 She married, fourthly, Major Patrick Robert Reid in 1977.2 She died in 1978.1
