James Thomas Amcotts Wilson was born on 1 January 1916.1 He was the son of Alec Thomas Lee Wilson and Margaret Minna P. Hirsch.2 He married Judy Inchbald, daughter of Major Pierre Elliot Inchbald, on 20 September 1947.1 He died in 1992.1
He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, England.1 He was educated at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in dispatches.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dorset.1
