Rt. Rev. George Henry Somerset Walpole was born on 9 November 1854.1 He was the son of Reverend Robert Seymour Walpole and Elizabeth Apthorp.2 He married Mildred Helen Barham, daughter of Charles Foster Barham, on 12 September 1882.1 He died on 4 March 1929 at age 74.1
He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity (D.D.) by Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1891.1 He held the office of Rector between 1903 and 1910.2 He held the office of Hon.
