     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Galloway between 1959 and 1974.²

     Marion Teresa Anderson was born in 1939.² She was the daughter of Robert Anderson.³ She married Francis Roger MacTaggart Brewis, son of Henry John Brewis and Faith Agnes Devorguilla MacTaggart-Stewart, on 12 December 1981.¹ She died on 31 December 2014.²
     From 12 December 1981, her married name became Brewis. She held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Wigtownshire.² She was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 2014.²
