     Arthur Wellington Alexander Nelson Hood, 2nd Viscount Bridport of Cricket St. Thomas was born on 15 December 1839.1 He was the son of General Alexander Hood, 1st Viscount Bridport of Cricket St. Thomas and Lady Mary Penelope Hill.1 He married Lady Maria Georgiana Julia Fox-Strangways, daughter of Hon. John George Charles Fox-Strangways and Amelia Barbara Marjoribanks, on 4 April 1872.1 He died on 28 March 1924 at age 84 at Lancrosse Vale, Guernsey, Channel IslandsG.2 He was buried on 1 April 1924 at Vale Cemetery, Lancrosse Vale, Guernsey, Channel IslandsG.2
     He gained the rank of Captain in 1857 in the 57th Foot.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for West Somerset between 1868 and 1883.1 He retired from the military in 1870.1 He was Colonel of the West Somerset Yeoman Cavalry between 1872 and 1895.3 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) on 10 May 1892.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Somerset.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Bridport of Cricket St. Thomas, co.      Sir Andrew Snape Hamond, 1st Bt. was born on 17 December 1738 at Blackheath, Kent, England.1 He was the son of Robert Hamond and Susanna Snape.1 He married Anne Graeme, daughter of Major Henry Graeme and Anne Doughty, on 8 March 1779.1 He died on 12 October 1828 at age 89 at Norfolk, England.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1759 in the Royal Navy.2 He gained the rank of Post-Captain in 1770.2 He fought in the American War of Independence.2 He was appointed Knight in 1778.2 He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of Nova Scotia in 1780.1 He was created 1st Baronet Hamond [Great Britain] on 18 December 1783, with a special remainder to his nephew, Captain Andrew Snape Douglas.2 He was Commander-in-Chief of the the Nore between 1785 and 1788.1 He held the office of Comptroller of the Navy between 1794 and 1806.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ipswich between 1796 and 1806.1
