     Major Laurence Arthur Sherrard was born on 21 June 1878 at Chatham, Kent, England.² He was the son of Lt.-Col. Charles William Sherrard and Clara Maud Brooke.² He married Freida Mary Heriz Holmwood on 15 April 1903 at St. Mark's Church, Brighton, Sussex, England.² He died on 30 November 1936 at age 58 at Brighton, Sussex, England.²
     He fought in the Boer War.² On 28 September 1900 at Doornkop, South Africa, he was severely wounded, losing the use of his right arm and right leg.² He lived at 8 Montpelier Terrace, Brighton, Sussex, England.²

     Muriel Geraldine Sherrard was born in 1905.² She was the daughter of Major Laurence Arthur Sherrard and Freida Mary Heriz Holmwood.^3,2 She married Lawrence Seymour Sutton, son of Rowland Sutton and Augusta Margaret Daubeney, on 20 June 1936.¹ She died on 14 February 1940.¹
     From 20 June 1936, her married name became Sutton.

     She was in the Women's Royal Naval Service between 1956 and 1962.¹ From 7 September 1962, her married name became Eden.
