He was the son of Major William Henry Burn-Callander and Hermione May Christian Garforth.² He married Penelope Georgina Crossley, daughter of Anthony Crommelin Crossley and Clare Frances Fortescue Thomson, on 3 October 1951.¹ He and Penelope Georgina Crossley were divorced in 1969.¹ He died on 26 March 1999 at age 77.³
