     Sir Saul Samuel, 1st Bt. was born posthumously on 2 November 1820.¹ He was the son of Sampson Samuel and Lydia Lyons.² He married, firstly, Henrietta Matilda Levien, daughter of Benjamin Goldsmid Levien, on 16 December 1857.¹ He married, secondly, Sara Louise Isaac, daughter of Edward Isaac, on 31 October 1877.¹ He died on 29 August 1900 at age 79.¹
     He was Agent General London for NSW.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)¹ He was created 1st Baronet Samuel, of Nevern Square [U.K.] on 8 March 1898.¹

     Benjamin Goldsmid Levien lived at Geelong, Victoria, Australia.¹

     Henrietta Matilda Levien was the daughter of Benjamin Goldsmid Levien.² She married Sir Saul Samuel, 1st Bt., son of Sampson Samuel and Lydia Lyons, on 16 December 1857.¹ She died on 5 June 1864.¹
     From 16 December 1857, her married name became Samuel.

     Louis Samuel was born on 6 January 1861.¹ He was the son of Sir Saul Samuel, 1st Bt. and Henrietta Matilda Levien.² He married Mary Ruth Fowler, daughter of Silas Fowler, on 2 March 1886.¹ He died on 29 November 1887 at age 26.¹
     He was educated at Sydney Grammar School, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia^G.¹ He was an engineer.¹

     Mary Ruth Fowler was the daughter of Silas Fowler.² She married, firstly, Louis Samuel, son of Sir Saul Samuel, 1st Bt. and Henrietta Matilda Levien, on 2 March 1886.¹ She married, secondly, Alfred Butler Trow on 5 October 1892.¹ She married, thirdly, Herbert Bingham on 20 March 1924.¹ She died in 1941.¹
     From 2 March 1886, her married name became Samuel. From 5 October 1892, her married name became Trow.¹ From 20 March 1924, her married name became Bingham.¹

     Vera Henrietta Ruth Samuel was born on 15 December 1886.¹ She was the daughter of Louis Samuel and Mary Ruth Fowler.² She married Henry Ernest Morriss in 1910.² She died on 27 November 1954 at age 67.¹
     From 1910, her married name became Morriss.

     Lilly Louis Samuel was born posthumously on 10 May 1888.¹ She was the daughter of Louis Samuel and Mary Ruth Fowler.² She married Harold Lawrence Slocock, son of Reverend Frederick Henry Slocock, on 30 November 1912.¹ She died on 24 March 1962 at age 73.¹
     From 30 November 1912, her married name became Slocock.
