     Lt.-Col. Oliver Charles Beauchamp St. John was born on 22 October 1907.¹ He is the son of Sir Henry Beauchamp St. John and Olive Amy Herbert.² He married, firstly, Elizabeth Mary Lambton, daughter of Philip Octavius Lambton, on 2 November 1935.¹ He married, secondly, Mary Greenway, daughter of Captain John Jameson Kelynge Greenway, on 18 January 1966.¹ He died on 4 April 1976 at age 68.¹
     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army (Foreign and Political Service.)¹ He was Secretary to the Governor North-West Frontier Province.¹ He was with the Foreign Office in 1948.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1963.¹
