Sir Reginald Claud Rootes was born on 20 October 1896.1 He was the son of William Rootes and Jennie Catt.2 He married Ruth Joyce Bensted, daughter of Harding Bensted, on 8 February 1922.1 He and Ruth Joyce Bensted were divorced in 1938.1 He married Nancy Norris Beadle, daughter of John Clayton Beadle, on 30 September 1938.1
He was educated at Cranbrook School, Cranbrook, Kent, England.1 He was President of the Society of Motor Manufacturers between 1945 and 1946.1 He was appointed Knight in 1946.1 He was President of the Motor Industry Research Associaiton between 1952 and 1956.1 He was chairman of Rootes Motors between 1956 and 1967.1

Nora Press was the daughter of Horace Press.2 She married William Edward Rootes, 1st Baron Rootes, son of William Rootes and Jennie Catt, on 15 March 1916.1 She and William Edward Rootes, 1st Baron Rootes were divorced in 1951.1 She died on 19 September 1964.1
From 15 March 1916, her married name became Rootes. After her marriage, Nora Press was styled as Baroness Rootes on 16 February 1959.

Brian Gordon Rootes was born on 1 October 1919.1 He was the son of William Edward Rootes, 1st Baron Rootes and Nora Press.2 He married Elizabeth Margaret Barclay, daughter of Reverend Humphrey Gordon Barclay and Beatrice Evermar Bond-Cabbell, on 5 February 1944.1 He died on 1 January 1971 at age 51.1
