Vice-Admiral Sir Robert Tristram Ricketts, 1st Bt. was born in 1772.1 He is the son of John Ricketts and Harriot Grace Roberts.2 He married Rebecca Eliza Gumbleton, daughter of Richard Gumbleton, in May 1802.1 He died on 16 August 1842.1
He fought in the Naploeonic Wars.1 He fought in the War of 1812, at Mobile, Alabama.1 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral of the Blue.1 He graduated with a Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.)1 He was created 1st Baronet Ricketts, of The Elms, co. Gloucester and Beaumont-Leyes, co. Leicester [U.K.] on 15 February 1828.1
