Gustav Adolph Renwick was born on 17 December 1883.1 He was the son of Sir George Renwick, 1st Bt. and Mary Jane Thompson.2 He married Mabel Deuchar, daughter of James Deuchar, in 1907.1 He died on 10 September 1956 at age 72.1
He was educated at Giggleswick Grammar School, England.1 He was director of Scammell Lorries Ltd.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Northumberland Fusiliers.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was severely wounded and was mentioned in despatches.1 He was chairman and governor-director of Fisher-Renwick Ltd.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Stretford between 1931 and 1935.1 He was chairman of Road Haulage (Operations) Advisory Committee, Ministry of War Transport in 1941.1
