Sir Thomas Boverton Redwood, 1st Bt. was born on 26 April 1846.1 He is the son of Theophilus Redwood and Charlotte Elizabeth Morson.2 He married Mary Elizabeth Letchford, daughter of Frederick Letchford, on 17 April 1873.1 He died on 4 June 1919 at age 73.1
He was a chemist and engineer.1 Sir Thomas Boverton Redwood, 1st Bt. usually went by his middle name of Boverton.1 He was appointed Knight in 1905.1 He was an advisor on petroleum to the Admiralty and other Government Departments.1 He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Chemistry and Chemical.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) Edinburgh.1 He was created 1st Baronet Redwood, of Avenue Road, St. Marylebone [U.K.] on 24 June 1911.1 He was president of the Institute of Engineers between 1913 and 1914.1 He was president of the Institute of Petroleum Technologists between 1914 and 1915.1 He wrote the book Petroleum and its Products.1
