Arthur Cunliffe Pole was born on 3 July 1806.1 He was the son of Charles van Notten-Pole and Felizarda Matilda Buller.2 He married Philippa Maria Carew, daughter of Major W. M. Carew, on 13 May 1845.1 He died on 21 August 1873 at age 67.1
