     Niall 'Ruadh' O'Neill, King of Ulster is the son of Aedh 'Macaemh Tóinleasg', King of Cenel Eoghain.² He married unknown daughter O'Conor, daughter of Cathal Crovedearg O'Conor, King of Connaught, in 1201.¹

     Brian 'Cathan an Duin' O'Neill, High King of Ireland was the son of Niall 'Ruadh' O'Neill, King of Ulster and unknown daughter O'Conor.² He married Jill of Argyll, daughter of Duncan Mac Dugall, King in the Hebrides.¹ He died in 1260, killed in action.¹
     Brian 'Cathan an Duin' O'Neill, High King of Ireland also went by the nick-name of Brian 'Cathan an Duin' (or in English, 'of the Battle of Down.¹') He gained the title of King of Ulster in 1241.¹ In 1256 he formed the Irish confederacy to expel the English.¹ He gained the title of High King of Ireland in 1258.¹ He fought in the Battle of Downpatrick in 1260, against the English.¹ His head was sent to London.¹

     Duncan Mac Dugall, King in the Hebrides gained the title of King in the Hebrides.¹

     Jill of Argyll is the daughter of Duncan Mac Dugall, King in the Hebrides.² She married Brian 'Cathan an Duin' O'Neill, High King of Ireland, son of Niall 'Ruadh' O'Neill, King of Ulster and unknown daughter O'Conor.¹
