     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Private in the 31st Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.1 He was with the Department of Pensions and National Health, Canada.1

     Mary Gertrude Seymour was the daughter of Sir Horace Alfred Damer Seymour and Elizabeth Mary Romilly.1 She married Charles Clive Bigham, 2nd Viscount Mersey, son of John Charles Bigham, 1st Viscount Mersey and Georgina Sarah Rogers, on 1 June 1904.1 She died on 1 May 1973.1
     Her married name became Bigham. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the County of London.1 After her marriage, Mary Gertrude Seymour was styled as Viscountess Mersey on 3 September 1929.

     Charles Clive Bigham, 2nd Viscount Mersey was born on 18 August 1872.1 He was the son of John Charles Bigham, 1st Viscount Mersey and Georgina Sarah Rogers.2 He married Mary Gertrude Seymour, daughter of Sir Horace Alfred Damer Seymour and Elizabeth Mary Romilly, on 1 June 1904.2 He died on 20 November 1956 at age 84.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He was with the Diplomatic Service between 1896 and 1900.1 He fought in the Boxer Rebellion in 1900, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1901.1 He was with the Military Intelligence Department, War between 1901 and 1904.1 He was Secretary to Royal Commissions between 1905 and 1952.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of London.1 He gained the rank of Brigade Major in 1914 in the Brigade of Guards.1 He was Provost Marshal to the Dardanelles and Military Attache, Egypt in 1915.1 He was GSO(1) of the Military Mission, French War Office between 1916 and 1919.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Grenadier Guards.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Mersey, of Toxteth, co.      John Charles Bigham, 1st Viscount Mersey was born on 3 August 1840.1 He was the son of John Bigham and Helen East.2 He married Georgina Sarah Rogers, daughter of John Rogers, on 17 August 1871.1 He died on 3 September 1929 at age 89.1
     He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1870 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was appointed Queen's Counsel (Q.C.) in 1883.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Liverpool Exchange between 1895 and 1897.1 He was appointed Knight in 1897.1 He held the office of Justice of the High Court between 1897 and 1909.1 He was a Royal Commissioner of revision of martial law sentences in South Africa in 1902.1 He was president of the Railway and Canal Commission between 1904 and 1907.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1909.1 He was president of the Probate, Divorce and Admiralty Division, High Court between 1909 and 1910.1 He was created 1st Baron Mersey, of Toxteth, co.      Janet Bruce was the daughter of Sir Robert Bruce of Airth and Eupheme Montgomerie.2 A contract for the marriage of Janet Bruce and William Livingston of Kilsyth was signed on 16 October 1504.1 She died after 21 July 1545.1
     From circa 16 October 1504, her married name became Livingston.1
