Colonel David Ogilvy was born on 14 July 1881.1 He was the son of Walter Tulliedeph Ogilvy and Eleanor May Edith Lumley Haworth.2 He married Vere Grace Fawcett, daughter of Sir Henry Fawcett, on 10 July 1906.1 He died on 2 June 1949 at age 67.1
He was educated at Trinity College, Glenalmond, Perthshire, Scotland.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1901 and 1902.1 He fought in the East African Campaign between 1903 and 1904.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1 He fought in the Afghan War in 1919.1 He fought in the Waziristan Campaign between 1923 and 1924.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1925.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Engineers.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1935.1

Vere Edith Ogilvy Ogilvy was born on 8 May 1912.1 She was the daughter of Colonel David Ogilvy and Vere Grace Fawcett.2 She married Lt.-Col. Charles Herbert Harberton Eales, son of Herbert Lovely Eales and Mary Bale Eales, on 17 May 1932.1 She died in 2000 at Torridge, Devon, England.3
