Sir Eardley Gideon Culling Eardley, 4th Bt. was born on 12 August 1838.1 He was the son of Sir Culling Eardley Eardley, 3rd Bt. and Isabella Carr.1 He married Florence Magee, daughter of James Magee, on 12 December 1859 at Calvary Church, Manhattan, New York City, New York, U.S.A.1
He was given the name of Eardley Gideon Culling Smith at birth.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Smith, of Hadley, co. Middlesex [U.K., 1802] on 21 May 1863.1
