Sir Richard Musgrave, 1st Bt. was the son of Christopher Musgrave and Jane Curwen.2 He married Hon. Frances Wharton, daughter of Philip Wharton, 3rd Baron Wharton and Lady Frances Clifford.1 He died in 1615.1
He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in 1603.1 He was created 1st Baronet Musgrave, of Hartley Castle, Westmorland [England] on 29 June 1611.2

Sir Philip Musgrave, 2nd Bt. was born on 21 May 1607.1 He was the son of Sir Richard Musgrave, 1st Bt. and Hon. Frances Wharton.2 He married Julian Hutton, daughter of Sir Richard Hutton.1 He died on 7 February 1677/78 at age 70.1
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Musgrave, of Hartley Castle, Westmorland [E., 1611] in 1615.1 He fought in the Battle of Marston Moor in 1644.1 He held the office of Governor of Carlisle.1 In 1650 King Charles II signed a warrant to created him Baron of Musgrave but this was never effected.1 He fought in the Battle of Worcester in 1651.1 He fought in the Battle of Isle of Man.1

Sir Richard Musgrave, 3rd Bt. was born in June 1635.1 He was the son of Sir Philip Musgrave, 2nd Bt. and Julian Hutton.2 He married Margaret Harrison, daughter of Sir Thomas Harrison and Margaret Darcy, on 20 June 1655.1 He died on 27 December 1687 at age 52, without male issue.1
