     John Buchanan Muir was born on 17 May 1876.¹ He was the son of Sir John Muir of Deanston, 1st Bt. and Margaret Morrison Kay.² He married Agnes Heather Gardiner Muir, daughter of John Gardiner Muir, on 5 December 1911.¹ He died in 1956.¹

     John Gardiner Muir held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He lived at Farmingwoods Hall, Northamptonshire, England.¹

     Agnes Heather Gardiner Muir was the daughter of John Gardiner Muir.² She married John Buchanan Muir, son of Sir John Muir of Deanston, 1st Bt. and Margaret Morrison Kay, on 5 December 1911.¹ She died on 14 May 1961.¹

     Marguerite Judith Muir was the daughter of John Buchanan Muir and Agnes Heather Gardiner Muir.² She died on 16 June 1936.¹
