Sir Basil Mott, 1st Bt. was born on 16 September 1859.1 He was the son of Frederick Thompson Mott and Elizabeth Ann Dobell.2 He married Florence Harmar Parker, daughter of William Parker, on 9 April 1887.1 He died on 7 September 1938 at age 78.1
He was a consulting civil engineer.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1918.1 He was created 1st Baronet Mott, of Ditchling, co. Sussex [U.K.] on 25 June 1930.1 He lived Member, Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.)1 He was president of the Institution of Civil Engineers.1 He was a Fellow in 1933 at Imperial College of Science, Technology, London, EnglandG.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)1
