Thomas Howard, 2nd Baron Howard of Escrick was baptised on 24 October 1625.2 He was the son of Edward Howard, 1st Baron Howard of Escrick and Hon. Mary Boteler.2 He married, firstly, Lady Elizabeth Mordaunt, daughter of John Mordaunt, 1st Earl of Peterborough and Elizabeth Howard, on 21 July 1646.1 He married, secondly, Jane Drake in June 1677.2 He died on 24 August 1678 at age 52.1
He gained the rank of officer in the 1st Foot Guards, in Flanders fighting with the Spanish against the French.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Howard of Escrick, co. York [E., 1628] on 24 April 1675.2
