Amelia Fraser was the daughter of Hugh Fraser, 9th Lord (Fraser of) Lovat and Lady Amelia Murray.2 She married Alexander Mackenzie of Fraserdale in 1702.1 She died on 22 August 1763.2
From 1702, her married name became Mackenzie. On 2 December 1702 as heir general of her father, she assumed on his death the title ‘Lady Lovat' and the Court of Session decided that she was entitled both to the title and the Lovat estates, rejecting a counter-claim by her cousin Simon, 11th Lord, the heir male.1 She held the estates till 1715, when her husband's participation in the Jacobite Rising led to his attainder and forfeiture of his life-rent interest in the estate.1 On 3 July 1730 by a decree of reduction in the Court of Session at the instigation of the 11th Lord, she was deprived of the title and though her right to the estates was not subject to court action she parted with them to the 11th Lord for £12,000 ready money.1

Hugh Mackenzie was born circa 1703.1 He was the son of Alexander Mackenzie of Fraserdale and Amelia Fraser.2 He married Amelia Fotheringham, daughter of Patrick Fotheringham and Hon. Anne Fraser.3 He died on 9 November 1770.1
