David Hugh Lindsay, 18th of Dowhill was born in 1859.1 He was the son of David Baird Lindsay, 17th of Dowhill and Eleanor Garstin.2 He married Caroline Offley Shaw, daughter of Hartington Offley Shaw, in 1896.1 He died in 1919.1

Lt.-Col. Horace Anthony Garstin was the son of Colonel George Lindsay Garstin.2 He married Alison Lindsay, daughter of David Hugh Lindsay, 18th of Dowhill and Caroline Offley Shaw, on 7 January 1935.1 He died on 4 April 1960.1
