Lt.-Col. Thomas Louis Leeds was born on 25 July 1869.1 He was the son of Edward Montagu Leeds and Jessie Spears.2 He married Clara Guion Kilbourne, daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry S. Kilbourne, on 14 April 1904.1 He died on 8 July 1926 at age 56.1
He fought in the First World War, and he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1916.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1918.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 59 Scinde Rifles, Indian Army.1
