     Sir John de Maxwell was the son of Sir John de Maxwell of Carlaverock.1 He died at Tower of London, London, England, where he was imprisoned.2
     He fought in the Battle of Neville's Cross on 17 October 1346, where he was captured by the English.2

     Sir Walter Roper Lawrence, 1st Bt. was born on 9 February 1857 at Moreton, Herefordshire, England.2 He was the son of George Lawrence and Catherine Lewis.3,2 He married Lilian Gertrude James, daughter of John Gwynne James and Elizabeth Poole, on 18 March 1885.1 He died on 25 May 1940 at age 83.1
     He was in the Indian Civil Service between 1877 and 1897.1 He held the office of Under Secretary and Officiating Secretary, Indian Government between 1887 and 1889.1 He was Settlement Commissioner of Kashmir between 1889 and 1895.1 He was Agent in Charge to the Duke of Bedford between 1895 and 1898.1 He was Private Secretary to the Viceroy of India between 1898 and 1903.1 He was Chief of Staff to HRH The Prince of Wales during his tour of India between 1905 and 1906.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Commander, Order of the Indian Empire (G.C.I.E.) in 1906.1 He was created 1st Baronet Lawrence, of Sloane Gardens, Chelsea [U.K.] on 13 July 1906.1 He held the office of Member of the Council of India between 1907 and 1909.1 He gained the rank of Temporary Colonel in 1914 in the Army.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1917.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) in 1918.1 He gained the rank of Temporary Major-General in 1919.1 He was appointed Knight of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.G.St.J.)1

     From 18 March 1885, her married name became Lawrence.2

     John Going Versturme-Bunbury was born on 12 August 1918 at Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.1 He was the son of John Clement Paillet Versturme-Bunbury and Dorothy Going.1 He died on 17 August 1943 at age 25 at Falcon Field, Mesa City, Arizona, U.S.A., killed in a training accident when his airplane collided with another mid-air.1
     He gained the rank of Leading Aircraftman in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1

     Henry Walter Neville Lawrence usually went by his middle name of Neville.3 He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.3 He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.3 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded twice.3 He gained the rank of Captain in the Reserve of Officers, Coldstream Guards.3 He held the office of High Sheriff of Surrey in 1949.3
