     Mary Ellen Thomson was the daughter of Cathcart Thomson.² She married Vice-Admiral Sir Charles George Frederick Knowles, 4th Bt., son of Sir Francis Charles Knowles, 3rd Bt. and Emma Pocock, on 14 June 1882.¹ She died on 5 July 1890.¹
     From 14 June 1882, her married name became Knowles.

     Sir Francis Howe Seymour Knowles, 5th Bt. was born on 13 January 1886.¹ He was the son of Vice-Admiral Sir Charles George Frederick Knowles, 4th Bt. and Mary Ellen Thomson.² He married Kathleen Constance Averina Lennon, daughter of William Lennon, on 22 April 1914.¹ He died on 4 April 1953 at age 67.¹
     He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)¹ He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was Physical Anthropologist to the Geographical Survey of Canada.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Knowles, of Lovell Hill, Berkshire [G.B., 1765] on 3 March 1918.¹

     George Johnstone Knowles was born on 17 July 1887 at Rathmullan, County Donegal, Ireland.¹ He was the son of Vice-Admiral Sir Charles George Frederick Knowles, 4th Bt. and Mary Ellen Thomson.² He married Helen Marjorie Pockley, daughter of Captain Robert Francis Pockley and Selina Elizabeth Antill, on 17 March 1915 at Cairo, Egypt.¹ He died on 31 January 1954 at age 66 at Killara, New South Wales, Australia, without issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain.¹

     From 17 March 1915, her married name became Knowles.

     Robert Cosby Knowles was born on 4 September 1888.¹ He was the son of Vice-Admiral Sir Charles George Frederick Knowles, 4th Bt. and Mary Ellen Thomson.² He married Phyllis Eve Thomas, daughter of Rev. Canon Ward Thomas, on 14 May 1929.¹ He died in 1972.¹

     Rev. Canon Ward Thomas lived at Lorne, Victoria, Australia.¹

     Phyllis Eve Thomas was the daughter of Rev. Canon Ward Thomas.² She married Robert Cosby Knowles, son of Vice-Admiral Sir Charles George Frederick Knowles, 4th Bt. and Mary Ellen Thomson, on 14 May 1929.¹ She died in 1992.¹
     From 14 May 1929, her married name became Knowles.

     Peter Cosby Knowles was born on 27 June 1930.¹ He is the son of Robert Cosby Knowles and Phyllis Eve Thomas.² He married, firstly, Gloria Oaten, daughter of Albert Edward Oaten, in 1957.¹ He and Gloria Oaten were divorced in 1977.¹ He married, secondly, Jane Winifred Cooper, daughter of B. Cooper, in 1977.¹
