     James Innes is the son of Sir Alexander Innes of Coxton, 1st Bt. and Jean Rollo.2 He married Mary Ramsay, daughter of John Ramsay of Laithers.1
     He was Captain Colonel Pocock's Regiment of Foot, Jacobite and 1745 Uprisings (hence executed 21 Oct 1746), Aide-de-Camp to Lord Ogilvy in 1715.1

     Sir Alexander Innes of Coxton, 1st Bt. was the son of John Innes and Helen Gordon.2 He married, secondly, Jean Neldrum, daughter of Patrick Neldrum of Laithers.1 He married, firstly, Jean Rollo, daughter of Hon. Sir John Rollo of Bannockburn, circa 1678.2 He died on 28 January 1709.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Moray circa 1652.2 He was a Jacobite in campaign of Viscount Dundee.2 He was created 1st Baronet Innes, of Coxton, co. Moray [Nova Scotia] on 20 March 1685/86, with special remainder to heirs male whatsover.2
