Katherine Marion Hope was born on 1 July 1878.1 She was the daughter of Captain John Hope of St. Mary's Isle and Rebecca Marion Blackburn.2 She died on 21 June 1961 at age 82, unmarried.1

Edythe Mary Ramsden was the daughter of Richard Ramsden.2 She married Sir Charles Dunbar Hope-Dunbar of St. Mary's Isle, 6th Bt., son of Captain John Hope of St. Mary's Isle and Rebecca Marion Blackburn, on 31 January 1906.1 She died on 27 February 1948.1

Sir Basil Douglas Hope-Dunbar of St. Mary's Isle, 7th Bt. was born on 16 February 1907.1 He was the son of Sir Charles Dunbar Hope-Dunbar of St. Mary's Isle, 6th Bt. and Edythe Mary Ramsden.2 He married, firstly, Evelyn Diana Fraser, daughter of Colonel George Ireland Fraser, on 8 November 1932.1 He and Evelyn Diana Fraser were divorced in 1937 at Scotland.1 He married, secondly, Edith Maud Maclaren Cross, daughter of Malcolm Cross, on 11 July 1940.1 He died on 21 July 1961 at age 54 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1,3
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Dunbar, of Baldoon [N.S., 1664] on 6 January 1958.1
