     Edna Matilda Hepburn was born on 3 November 1910 at Traralgon, Victoria, Australia^G.¹ She was the daughter of James Josiah Hepburn and Martha Ann Dodd.¹ She married Edward Hurren.¹ She died on 21 February 1984 at age 73 at Melbourne, Victoria, Australia^G.¹

     Margaret Lowis is the daughter of Ninian Lowis of Merchiston.² She married Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall, 8th Bt., son of Sir Archibald Hope of Rankeillor and Margaret Aytoun, on 16 March 1702 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.^1,3

     Archibald Hope was born in 1703.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall, 8th Bt. and Margaret Lowis.² He was baptised on 20 August 1703 at St. Cuthbert's, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.³ He married Catherine Tod, daughter of Very Rev. Hugh Tod, on 4 April 1725 at Monimail, Fife, Scotland.^1,3 He died in 1769.¹

     Catherine Tod is the daughter of Very Rev. Hugh Tod.² She married Archibald Hope, son of Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall, 8th Bt. and Margaret Lowis, on 4 April 1725 at Monimail, Fife, Scotland.^1,3
     From 4 April 1725, her married name became Hope.

     Sir Archibald Hope of Craighall, 9th Bt. was born in 1735.¹ He was the son of Archibald Hope and Catherine Tod.² He married, firstly, Elizabeth Macdowall, daughter of Colonel William Macdowall, 1st of Castlesemple and Isabella Wallace, in 1757.¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Patoun, daughter of John Patoun of Inveresk and Jean Douglas, in 1779.¹ He died on 10 June 1794.¹
     He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Hope, of Craighall [N.S., 1628] in 1771.¹ He purchased the Pinkie estate from the Marquess of Tweeddale in 1778.¹

     James Hope was born on 23 January 1705 at Monimail, Fife, Scotland.² He was the son of Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall, 8th Bt. and Margaret Lowis.³ He died, unmarried.¹
     He lived at Loudoun, Scotland.¹ His last will was dated 6 November 1738.
