     He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 22 February 1730 at New York, U.S.A.^G, in the Captain Holland's Independent Company.¹ He was Commissioner of Indian Affairs in 1738 at Albany, Albany County, New York, U.S.A.^G.¹ He fought in the Capture of Havana in 1762, commanding company of Albany Provincials.¹

     Elisabeth Guthrie was born in 1711.¹ She was the daughter of Colonel James Guthrie of Guthrie and Margaret Turnbull.¹ She married Major Edward Clarke, son of George Clarke and Anne Hyde, at Jamaica^G.¹ She married William Williams.¹ She married, firstly, Colonel Richard Haughton, son of Jonathan Hawtayne and Mary Dehaney, in 1737.¹ She was also reported to have died on 14 October 1764.¹
     Her married name became Williams.¹ Her married name became Clarke.¹ From 1737, her married name became Haughton.¹

     William Williams married Elisabeth Guthrie, daughter of Colonel James Guthrie of Guthrie and Margaret Turnbull.¹

     Colonel Richard Haughton was born in 1691.¹ He was the son of Jonathan Hawtayne and Mary Dehaney.¹ He married, firstly, Rebekah James, daughter of Thomas James.¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Goodin, daughter of George Goodin and Sarah (?).¹ He married, thirdly, Elisabeth Guthrie, daughter of Colonel James Guthrie of Guthrie and Margaret Turnbull, in 1737.¹ He was also reported to have died on 15 January 1740.¹

     George Clarke was born in 1676.¹ He was the son of George Clarke.¹ He married Anne Hyde, daughter of Edward Hyde and Catherine Rigby, in 1714.¹ He died on 12 January 1760 at Chester, Cheshire, England^G.¹
     He was Secretary of the Province of New York in 1703.¹ He was Member of the Executive Council of New York in 1716.¹ He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of New York in 1736.¹
