He married Maria Antonia Gräfin Chotek von Chotkowa und Wognin, daughter of Bohyslaw Graf Chotek von Chotkowa und Wognin and Wilhelmina Gräfin Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau, on 27 September 1893 at Groß-Priesen, Bohemia. He married Dorothea Wolff on 18 February 1937. He died on 13 November 1946 at age 83.

She died on 13 June 1930 at age 56.
     Her married name became von Wuthenau-Hohenthurm.
