     Hon. George Garrw Tomlin was born on 7 January 1898.1 He was the son of Thomas James Chesshyre Tomlin, Baron Tomlin and Marion Olivia Waterfield.1 He died on 13 December 1931 at age 33 at Nazeing, Essex, EnglandG, killed in a flying accident.1
     He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.1 He graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1

     Julia Frances Strachey was born on 14 August 1901.2 She is the daughter of Oliver Strachey and Ruby Julia Mayer.1,3 She married, firstly, Hon. Stephen Tomlin, son of Thomas James Chesshyre Tomlin, Baron Tomlin and Marion Olivia Waterfield, on 22 July 1927.1 She married, secondly, Lawrence Burnett Gowing, son of Horace Burnett Gowing, in 1952.4 She and Lawrence Burnett Gowing were divorced in 1967.4
     From 22 July 1927, her married name became Tomlin.1 From 1952, her married name became Gowing.4

Oliver Strachey1

     Oliver Strachey was born on 3 November 1874.2 He was the son of Sir Richard Strachey and Jane Maria Grant.2,3 He married, firstly, Ruby Julia Mayer, daughter of Julius Mayer, on 21 January 1901.4 He and Ruby Julia Mayer were divorced in 1908.4 He married, secondly, Rachel Pearsall Conn Costelloe, daughter of Benjamin Francis Conn Costelloe, on 31 May 1911.3 He died on 14 May 1960 at age 85.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.4 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1943.4

     Sir Richard Strachey was born on 24 July 1817.1 He was the son of Edward Strachey and Julia Woobine Kirkpatrick.1,3 He married, firstly, Caroline Anne Bowles, daughter of Reverend George Downing Bowles and Anne Stillingfleet, on 27 December 1854.3 He married, secondly, Jane Maria Grant, daughter of Sir John Peter Grant, 11th of Rothiemurchus and Henrietta Isabella Phillipa Chichele Plowden, on 4 January 1859 at Calcutta, India.3 He died on 12 February 1908 at age 90.1
     He held the office of Member of the Council of State [India] between 1875 and 1889.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.)3 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in the Royal Engineers, Bengal.3 He graduated with a Doctor of Laws (LL.D.)1 He was appointed Knight Grand Commander, Order of the Star of India (G.C.S.I.)1

     Edward Strachey was born on 18 December 1774.1 He was the son of Sir Henry Strachey, 1st Bt. and Jane Kelsall.2,3 He married Julia Woobine Kirkpatrick, daughter of Maj.-Gen. William Kirkpatrick and Maria Seton Pawson, on 13 October 1808.1 He died on 3 January 1832 at age 57.1
     He was with the Bengal Civil Service.1
