     George Sinclair of Roslin, younger was the son of Sir Oliver Sinclair of Roslin and Margaret Borthwick.² He married Agnes Crichton, daughter of Sir Patrick Crichton, before 1487.¹ He died before 1487.¹

     Mary Stewart was the daughter of Robert Hathorn Stewart of Physgill and Isabella Agnew.¹ She married Rear-Admiral James Hay, son of Major James Hay and Dorothea Hay, on 10 November 1824.¹ She died on 26 April 1880.¹
     From 10 November 1824, her married name became Hay.¹

     James George Baird-Hay was born on 12 September 1826.¹ He was the son of Rear-Admiral James Hay and Mary Stewart.¹ He married Jane Baird, daughter of William Baird of Elie, on 17 June 1862.¹ He died on 3 March 1913 at age 86.¹

     Lt.-Gen. Sir Robert John Hay was born on 21 April 1828.¹ He was the son of Rear-Admiral James Hay and Mary Stewart.¹ He married Georgina Harvey Ramsay, daughter of Sir Alexander Ramsay of Balmain, 2nd Bt. and Hon. Elizabeth Maule, on 20 April 1861.¹ He died on 25 November 1910 at age 82.¹
     He was the Governor between 1887 and 1889 at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, England^G.¹ He was Colonel Commandant of the Royal Artillery.¹ He was President of the Ordnance Commission between 1889 and 1891.¹ He was Director of Artillery between 1891 and 1895.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)¹

     Georgina Harvey Ramsay was born on 10 July 1833.² She was the daughter of Sir Alexander Ramsay of Balmain, 2nd Bt. and Hon. Elizabeth Maule.^1,3 She was baptised on 22 August 1833 at Dun, Angus, Scotland.² She married Lt.-Gen. Sir Robert John Hay, son of Rear-Admiral James Hay and Mary Stewart, on 20 April 1861.¹ She died on 3 January 1917 at age 83.³
     From 20 April 1861, her married name became Hay.¹

     David Hay was born on 2 March 1862.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Robert John Hay and Georgina Harvey Ramsay.¹ He died on 9 July 1912 at age 50.¹

     Edward Hay was born on 6 January 1865.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Robert John Hay and Georgina Harvey Ramsay.¹ He died on 5 March 1884 at age 19, while on active service.¹
     He gained the rank of Midshipman in the Royal Navy.¹
