Hon. Hamilton Douglas-Halyburton of Pitcur was born on 10 October 1763.1 He was the son of Sholto Charles Douglas, 15th Earl of Morton and Catherine Hamilton.1 He died on 30 December 1783 at age 20, when he froze to death during a blizzard off Sandy Hook, New Jersey (along with twelve crew).1
