     David Boyle Hope was born on 21 August 1833.¹ He was the son of James Hope and Elizabeth Boyle.² He married Letitia Augusta Crofton, daughter of Arthur Burgh Crofton, on 19 April 1863.¹ He died on 9 September 1896 at age 63.¹

     Lt.-Col. James Arthur Hope was born on 21 January 1865.¹ He was the son of David Boyle Hope and Letitia Augusta Crofton.² He married Geraldine Lucy Robertson, daughter of Reverend Charles Hope Robertson, on 17 April 1895.¹ He died on 2 March 1925 at age 60.¹

     Geraldine Lucy Robertson was the daughter of Reverend Charles Hope Robertson.² She married Lt.-Col. James Arthur Hope, son of David Boyle Hope and Letitia Augusta Crofton, on 17 April 1895.¹ She died on 20 April 1949.¹
     From 17 April 1895, her married name became Hope.

     Lt.-Col. Arthur Henry Cecil Hope was born on 18 July 1896.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. James Arthur Hope and Geraldine Lucy Robertson.² He married Muriel Ann Neilson Collie, daughter of James Anderson Collie, on 2 April 1937.¹ He died in 1986.¹
     He was educated at Edinburgh Academy, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He graduated from Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G, with a Bachelor of Law (B.L.)¹ He was admitted to Territorial Decoration (T.D.)¹ He was a practising Writer to the Signet (W.S.)¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1939.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Scots Territorial Army and Royal Artillery (TA.)¹

     Muriel Ann Neilson Collie is the daughter of James Anderson Collie.² She married Lt.-Col. Arthur Henry Cecil Hope, son of Lt.-Col. James Arthur Hope and Geraldine Lucy Robertson, on 2 April 1937.¹
     From 2 April 1937, her married name became Hope. She lived in 2003 at 8A Randolph Cliff, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹
