     Adrian Alexander Hope was born on 19 November 1897.¹ He was the son of Charles Douglas Hope and Alice Wilmot.² He married Eleanor Ritchie-Thomson, daughter of Lt.-Col. George Ritchie-Thomson, on 24 July 1926.¹ He died on 17 April 1945 at age 47 at Italy^G, killed in action.¹
     He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.)¹ He was a practising barrister.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Transvaal Scottish, Indian Army.¹

     Lt.-Col. George Ritchie-Thomson lived at Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa^G.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)¹ He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)¹

     Eleanor Ritchie-Thomson was the daughter of Lt.-Col. George Ritchie-Thomson.² She married Adrian Alexander Hope, son of Charles Douglas Hope and Alice Wilmot, on 24 July 1926.¹ She died in 1995.¹
     From 24 July 1926, her married name became Hope.

     William Adrian Hope was born on 13 June 1927.¹ He is the son of Adrian Alexander Hope and Eleanor Ritchie-Thomson.² He married Hazel Johnstone, daughter of Adelbert Johnstone, on 27 February 1960.¹
     He was educated at Michaelhouse School, Balgowan, Natal, South Africa^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War, with South African Artillery.¹ He graduated from Witwatersrand University, Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa^G, in 1948 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1951 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1955 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was a practising Advocate at Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa^G.¹ He wrote the book A Digest of Rhodesian Mining Law, published 1965.¹ He lived in 2003 at 9 Montagu Street, Knysna, South Africa^G.¹

     Adelbert Johnstone lived at Gwelo, Zimbabwe^G.¹

     Hazel Johnstone is the daughter of Adelbert Johnstone.² She married William Adrian Hope, son of Adrian Alexander Hope and Eleanor Ritchie-Thomson, on 27 February 1960.¹
     From 27 February 1960, her married name became Hope.

     Adrian Charles Hope was born on 10 October 1962.¹ He is the son of William Adrian Hope and Hazel Johnstone.²
