     Lt.-Col. Edmund John Pomeroy was born on 5 May 1871.1 He was the son of John Arthur Pomeroy and Louisa Letitia Jane Gartside-Tipping.2 He married Dorothy Maud Wigan, daughter of Hon. Alfred Edmund Wigan and Alice Maud Graham, on 3 August 1911.1 He died on 15 May 1945 at age 74.1
     He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the West India Regiment.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1919.1 He was founder, director and chairman of Sunday River Citrus Corporation.1
