Sir James Somerville, 1st Bt. was the son of Thomas Somerville and Katherine King.1 He married Elizabeth Quaile, daughter of William Quaile, on 2 February 1713.1 He died on 16 August 1748.1
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dublin in 1729.1 He held the office of Lord Mayor of Dublin in 1736.1 He was created 1st Baronet Somerville, of Somerville, co. Meath [Ireland] on 14 June 1748.1

Thomas Somerville was the son of Thomas Somerville and Joan Warnock.1 He married Katherine King, daughter of James King.1 He died on 23 July 1718.1 His will (dated 20 July 1718) was proven (by probate) on 26 August 1718.1
