     William Henry Hill was born on 23 October 1823 at County Carlow, Ireland^G.¹ He was the son of Major Edward Eustace Hill and Elizabeth Kennedy.¹

     Letitia Sarah Hill was born on 18 October 1830 at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada^G.¹ She was the daughter of Major Edward Eustace Hill and Elizabeth Kennedy.¹ She married, firstly, Thomas Wallis Sargent, son of Reverend Abraham Sargent and Ellen Wallis, in April 1852.^1,2 She married, secondly, Henry Hamilton on 8 November 1871 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.³
     From April 1852, her married name became Sargent.¹ From 8 November 1871, her married name became Hamilton.³

     Thomas Wallis Sargent was the son of Reverend Abraham Sargent and Ellen Wallis.² He married Letitia Sarah Hill, daughter of Major Edward Eustace Hill and Elizabeth Kennedy, in April 1852.^1,2 He died on 24 June 1863 at Taylor's Hotel, New York City, New York, U.S.A.^G, by shooting himself in the head.¹
     He was a civil engineer.¹
