Hon. Herbert Crawshay Bailey was born on 23 June 1871.1 He was the son of Joseph Russell Bailey, 1st Baron Glanusk of Glanusk Park and Mary Ann Lucas.2 He married Kathleen Mary Salt, daughter of Sir Shirley Harris Salt, 3rd Bt. and Charlotte Jane MacDonnell, on 23 April 1908.1 He died on 13 April 1936 at age 64.1
He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1895 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1897 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Territorial Army.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Middlesex.1 He was Commissioner of the Board of Control in 1924.1

Herbert Crawshay Bailey and Kathleen Mary Salt.2 He married Lorna Dorothy Andrews, daughter of Captain Ernest Courtenay Harold Norman Andrews, on 25 January 1941.1 He died on 28 June 1997 at age 79.1
