     Johann von Sachsen was the son of Bernard III Kurfürst von Sachsen and Sophia von Thüringen.¹
     He held the office of Canon of Halberstadt in 1256.¹

     Sofie von Sachsen was the daughter of Bernard III Kurfürst von Sachsen and Brigitte (?)¹ She died on 16 July 1244.¹
     She was the Abbess between 1221 and 1244 at Gernrode, Germany^G.¹

     Johann II Herzog von Sachsen-Lauenburg was the son of Johann I Herzog von Sachsen-Lauenburg and Ingeborg von Smaland. He married Elisabeth von Holstein-Rendsburg, daughter of Heinrich I Graf von Holstein-Rendsburg and Heilwig von Bronckhorst, in 1315. He died in 1322.
     He gained the title of Herzog von Sachsen-Lauenburg.

     Elisabeth von Holstein-Rendsburg was born in 1300. She was the daughter of Heinrich I Graf von Holstein-Rendsburg and Heilwig von Bronckhorst. She married Johann II Herzog von Sachsen-Lauenburg, son of Johann I Herzog von Sachsen-Lauenburg and Ingeborg von Smaland, in 1315. She married Prince Erik of Denmark in 1329. She and Prince Erik of Denmark were divorced in 1331. She died before 1340.

     Albrecht IV Herzog von Sachsen-Bergedorf was born in 1315. He was the son of Johann II Herzog von Sachsen-Lauenburg and Elisabeth von Holstein-Rendsburg. He married Beate von Schwerin in 1334. He married Sofie von Mecklenburg-Güstrow in 1341. He died in 1344.
     He gained the title of Herzog von Sachsen-Bergedorf.

     Beate von Schwerin married Albrecht IV Herzog von Sachsen-Bergedorf, son of Johann II Herzog von Sachsen-Lauenburg and Elisabeth von Holstein-Rendsburg, in 1334. She died before 1340.

     Sofie von Mecklenburg-Güstrow married Albrecht IV Herzog von Sachsen-Bergedorf, son of Johann II Herzog von Sachsen-Lauenburg and Elisabeth von Holstein-Rendsburg, in 1341. She died in 1364.

     Johann III Herzog von Sachsen-Bergedorf was the son of Albrecht IV Herzog von Sachsen-Bergedorf and Sofie von Mecklenburg-Güstrow. He died between 1354 and 1356.
     He gained the title of Herzog von Sachsen-Bergedorf.

     Albrecht V Herzog von Sachsen-Bergedorf was the son of Albrecht IV Herzog von Sachsen-Bergedorf and Sofie von Mecklenburg-Güstrow. He married Katharina von Mecklenburg-Güstrow in 1366. He died before 15 November 1367.
     He gained the title of Herzog von Sachsen-Bergedorf.

     Katharina von Mecklenburg-Güstrow married Albrecht V Herzog von Sachsen-Bergedorf, son of Albrecht IV Herzog von Sachsen-Bergedorf and Sofie von Mecklenburg-Güstrow, in 1366. She died in 1402.
