Joan Ella Brodie Henderson was born on 21 July 1916.1 She was the daughter of Brig.-Gen. Sir Brodie Haldane Henderson and Charlotte Ella Jones.2 She married Sir Fiennes William Strang Steel, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Samuel Strang Steel of Philiphaugh, 1st Bt. and Hon. Vere Mabel Cornwallis, on 7 August 1941.2 She died on 5 June 1982 at age 65.2

Sir Fiennes William Strang Steel, 2nd Bt. was born on 24 July 1912.2 He is the son of Sir Samuel Strang Steel of Philiphaugh, 1st Bt. and Hon. Vere Mabel Cornwallis.2 He married Joan Ella Brodie Henderson, daughter of Brig.-Gen. Sir Brodie Haldane Henderson and Charlotte Ella Jones, on 7 August 1941.2 He died in 1992.2
