James Monteith Erskine was born on 11 June 1907.1 He was the son of Sir James Malcolm Monteith Erskine and Cicely Grace Quicke.2 He married Kathleen Brookes, daughter of William Charles Brookes, on 17 November 1931.1 He died on 25 September 1965 at age 58.1
