     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He held the office of U.K. High Commissioner to Australia between 1952 and 1956.¹
