     William Buchanan of Ardroch married Hon. Elizabeth Murray, daughter of Alexander Murray, 7th Lord Elibank and Mary Clara Montolieu, on 14 September 1803.¹

     Hon. Mary Murray was the daughter of Alexander Murray, 7th Lord Elibank and Mary Clara Montolieu.² She married Augustus Frederick Lindley on 12 July 1830.¹ She died on 23 October 1854.¹
     From 12 July 1830, her married name became Lindley.

     Hon. James Murray was born on 4 May 1810.¹ He was the son of Alexander Murray, 7th Lord Elibank and Catherine Steuart.² He was baptised on 24 May 1810 at Eddlestone, Peebles-shire, Scotland^G.³ He married Isabella Erskine, daughter of James Erskine of Aberdona and unknown daughter Tytler, on 3 May 1832.¹ He died on 17 February 1844 at age 33 at Borneo^G, killed.¹
     He was a practising advocate.¹

     Isabella Erskine was the daughter of James Erskine of Aberdona and unknown daughter Tytler.^1,2 She married Hon. James Murray, son of Alexander Murray, 7th Lord Elibank and Catherine Steuart, on 3 May 1832.¹ She died on 11 March 1875.¹
     From 3 May 1832, her married name became Murray.

     Alexander Erskine Erskine-Murray was born on 9 December 1832.¹ He was the son of Hon. James Murray and Isabella Erskine.² He married Helen Pringle, daughter of Robert Pringle of Symington, on 26 April 1866.¹ He died on 17 December 1907 at age 75.¹
     His name was legally changed to Alexander Erskine Erskine-Murray.² He was given the name of Alexander Erskine Murray at birth.² He lived at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹

     Robert Pringle of Symington was a practising Writer to the Signet (W.S.)¹

     Helen Pringle was the daughter of Robert Pringle of Symington.² She married Alexander Erskine Erskine-Murray, son of Hon. James Murray and Isabella Erskine, on 26 April 1866.¹ She died on 3 August 1916.¹
     From 26 April 1866, her married name became Murray.

     James Robert Erskine-Murray was born on 24 October 1868.¹ He was the son of Alexander Erskine Erskine-Murray and Helen Pringle.² He married Alleine Frederica Florinda Gildea, daughter of Maj.-Gen. George Frederick Gildea and Fanny Power Florinda Gascoyne, in 1898.¹ He died on 12 February 1927 at age 58.¹
     He graduated with a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.)¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Edinburgh (F.R.S.E.)¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Air Force.¹

     Maj.-Gen. George Frederick Gildea was born on 10 November 1831 at County Mayo, Ireland.² He was the son of Reverend George Robert Gildea and Esther Green.³ He married Fanny Power Florinda Gascoyne, daughter of Henry Ireland Gascoyne and Elizabeth Trench, on 23 March 1863 at Ballinasloe Church, Ballinasloe, County Galway, Ireland.² He married Elizabeth Campbell on 18 August 1874 at Bonhill, Dumbartonshire, Scotland.² He died on 24 April 1898 at age 66 at Tullichewan Castle, Dumbartonshire, Scotland.²
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹
