Sir William Leonard Dunning, 2nd Bt. was born on 13 November 1903.1 He was the son of Sir Leonard Dunning, 1st Bt. and Edith Muriel Tod.2 He married Kathleen Lawrie, daughter of J. Patrick Lawrie, on 16 June 1936.1 He died on 10 September 1961 at age 57.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1925 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was registered as a Associate Memeber, Institution of Mechanical Engineers (A.M.I.Mech.E.)1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Dunning, of Beedinglee, Parish of Lower Beeding, co. Sussex [U.K., 1930] on 8 February 1941.1
