James Dundas of Dundas was the son of John de Dundas.2 He married, secondly, Christian Stewart, daughter of Sir John Stewart of Innermeath, 3rd of Lorn and Isabella Macdougall.1 He married, firstly, Christian Stewart.1 He died in 1430/31.1
He held the position of 11th Chief of the Name and Arms of Dundas from.1 Between 1376 and 1379 he had charter of Fingask.1 Between 1378 and 1439 his name occurs in numerous charters.1 In 1424 he rebuilt and fortified Dundas Castle.1
