Sir George Dunbar of Mochrum, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir James Dunbar of Mochrum, 1st Bt. and Isobel Nicolson.2 He married Janet Young, daughter of Sir John Young of Lenie.1 He died in October 1747.1
He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Scots Dragoons.1 He fought in the War of Spanish Succession.2 He sold Mochrum and Pankill and bought Woodside, Stirlingshire.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Dunbar, of Mochrum, co. Wigtown [N.S., 1694] in 1718.1 On 14 April 1744 he became the chief of his family on the death of Ludovic Dunbar of Westfield.1
