     Francis Gustave de Stacpoole was born on 26 October 1890.¹ He was the son of George de Stacpoole, 4th Duc de Stacpoole and Pauline Mary MacEvoy.² He married Emily Marion Watson, daughter of Herbert Nicol Watson and Henrietta Johnston, on 27 February 1924.¹ He died on 1 October 1973 at age 82.¹
     He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Irish Guards (SR.)¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.¹ He was a sheep farmer at New Zealand^G.¹
